On Friday 18th May 2018, the fourth ESAC Fun Run will take place on-site, for all ESAC colleagues and their families. There will be multiple events going on - see details below - and a 'merienda' will be organised on the basis of a 'Potluck' or 'bring-a-plate' party. It will reduce the costs of the event and if all participants bring a plate, there will be enough for everybody to share! Drinks will be provided by the organisation, with the much appreciated help of ESAC Site Support.
The event starts at 18:00h next to the canteen -as in the two previous editions-. Here's the planned schedule:
- 17:45h delivery or Team bags to team captains
- 18:00h Wellcome and briefing
- 18:10h Kid's race (straight)
- 18:20h Young Runner's race (1 lap)
- 18:30h Start of Fun Run
- 19:30h End of Fun Run
- 19:30h Potluck merienda
- 20:30h Awards Ceremony
In order to keep track of the number of people planning to come, to organise the logistics, please register you and your family or friends through the web registration form.
Programme:
The core event is a relay running race of 1 hour with an emphasis on the social, rather than the competitive aspect. Teams from 2 up to 8 members can participate, each team running laps of approx. 600m during 1 hour. As it is a relay race, only one person per team should run at any time, handing over the baton to the next runner at the end of each lap.

All colleagues, friends or family members (kids from 6 years onwards) are invited to join a team, and show off with their speed, original team set-up, funny dress code, etc.
We will start with a couple of races for children at 18:00hThe start of the run will be at 18:20h.
After the run we will have a potluck merienda at the canteen terrace and the awards ceremony.
Circuit:
Relays will be done at the Start/Lap point. After the team that has completed the most laps crosses the finish line after 60 minutes, the rest of the teams will finish their current laps. The winning team will be the one with the most laps.
Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded in the categories:
- Most Original Team
- Fastest Team
- Prize of the Jury
All participants in any of the events taking place will receive a fun and practical souvenir.
Kids:
We will organise activities with the childrem. They will be taken care of during the race such that everyone can have a lot of fun!
Social Clubs
Last but not least, all ESAC social clubs are invited to either prepare a stand along the track, or do a demonstration of what they are good at or want to show off with. With the range of social clubs active at ESAC we hope to attract a range of side-activities (music during the run?, basket-, volley- or football games?, fencing demonstrations?, solar telescopes?, wine-tasting?, huerto-stand? …)
